ENOID

Livssyklus (CD 2006)

:: English version ::

It's always peculiar with albums like ‘Livssyklus’, the debut album of the Swedish one-man-project Enoid. In the beginning is one positively surprised, because the concerning work, after the first minutes, turns out to be rather good, like the first impression wants to make one believe, but after a short time it’s being followed by the disenchantment that the first pleasures were put on too fast.
But that’s it, because also if the first full-length by solo-noisemaker Bornyhake, who especially at the drums turns out to be a total berserker, on the ground of the permanent high speed levels sometimes goes a bit monotonous through the stroke, you can always again note down riffs and melodies which are nice to listen to, which grants the inferno the good taste. And apart from that, the CD is so attractive despicable and yet good produced, that it’s hard for one, with the transitions from the all in all strewed, slower passages to the thundering blast beats, not to pull the corner of the mouth up, because of this extraordinary, musical aggression. So it doesn’t matter, that Enoid, once a complete band, shrinked to the mentioned Bornyhake in the last year, because the man appears to me to be skilled with stringed instruments and drums, so that one still has the permanent feeling, that a full horde discharges here their sinister diabolical work.
In the end, I can recommend this album everyone, who especially with speeded Black Metal has it’s fun. This first CD pleases me, all in all, rather good at any rate.
