Skullfucking Armageddon (1999)

Bitterböse und nur so strotzend vor Blasphemie prügeln hier die vier Singalesen drauf los, als gelte es die ganze Welt in Schutt und Asche zu legen und das Armageddon itself herauf zubeschwören. Stilistisch lassen sich Impiety dabei eher vom guten alten Thrash Metal inspirieren, als von den ihnen verhassten 'Norwegian Black Metal Clowns', wie sie schon auf ihrer 93er "Salve The Goat"-EP mit verächtlichem Blick auf die dortige Szene verlauten ließen. Die 8 Songs sind Raserei pur, immer wieder durchsetzt mit genialen Breaks. Ob "Lords Of  Apokalypse", "Ironflames Of (Fucking) Hell", "Skullfucked: The Speed Metal Hell" oder das megageniale "Torment In Fire", welches eine Hommage an alte Thrash Metal Zeiten darstellt, hier wird geschändet, gemetzelt, gemäht, gemeuchelt und durch knietiefes Blut gewatet, was das Zeug hält. Es tut einfach gut, zwischendurch mal diesem erfrischend anderen Black Metal zu fröhnen, der dazu durch seine fernöstliche Exotik einen ganz eigenen Charme entwickeln kann.

As cross as two sticks and bristling with blasphemy the four guys from Singapore cudgel as if they obtain to take the world down to ember and rubbish and to evocate Armageddon itself. Stylistically Impiety are rather influenced by good old Thrash Metal than by the hated Norwegian Black Metal clowns, as they announced on their "Slave To The Goat" EP in '93 looking derisively at the scene there. The eight songs are pure mania time and time again interspersed with ingenious breaks. Whether it is "Lords Of Apokalypse", "Ironflames Of (Fucking) Hell", "Skullfucked: The Speed Metal Hell" or the mega-ingenious "Torment In Fire", that reminds of old Thrash Metal times, they assassinate, butcher, cut, disgrace and wade knee-deep in blood. It simply does good to indulge in this refreshingly different type of Black Metal that can besides develop its very own charm by its eastern exotic.
